You won't want to miss this unique opportunity to see the newest addition to the KCAI campus!  The new lab is equipped with multiple 3D printers, a digital loom, CNC routers, laser engravers and rapid prototype machines.

Studios Inc provides studio space, professional development, networking, and exhibitions for artists in Greater Kansas City. Studios Inc offers a unique immersion experience for resident artists, who use their studio and exhibition space to produce and exhibit work, network and learn from one another, and attract and cultivate relationships with art patrons, collectors, and arts professionals.  Enjoy an exclusive opportunity to visit the studios of Patty Carroll, acclaimed photograher and Jill Downen, sculptor and Interim Chair of the KCAI sculpture department.

Under the mentorship of craftsman, David Polivka, Matt Castilleja's mission is to create sleek and contemporary furniture to last a lifetime.  Blending modern materials with methods from the past, he created pieces that truely are works of art. Enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of his studio and learn about his process, background and thoughts on design.

Biennial Art & Design Auction

Join us for the 2017 Art & Design Auction (ADA), an event so big it only happens every other year!  KCAI's newest studios and plaza will be the epicenter for an evening composed of fine art, festive fare and friends who share a passion for supporting arts education!  Silent and live auctions will feature original artwork created by distinguished alumni and faculty.

Exclusive Trip to Chicago!

Join Nerman Family President, Tony Jones CBE, on an exlclusive tour of Chicago's artistic treasures, many of which are not available to the general public.  Visit private collections, artist studios and other hidden gems.  Enjoy good food, great accomodations and the chance to immerse yourself in Chicago's art scene like never before.  Space is limited.  Reservations will be secured on a first-come basis.  A deposit will be required to secure your reservation.

Artist-in-Residence Talk

Gather at the KCAI Crossroads Gallery: Center for Contemporary Practice to meet and hear from Ellen Fullman, KCAI alum and Artist-in-Residence at the Gallery.  Ellen will be working on a sound installation and you will have the unique opportunity to see (and hear!) her work up close.  You will also be among the first to see two special exhibitions focused on sculpture in conjunction with the International Sculpture Conference being held in Kansas City in October.

Behind-the-scenes Tour of The Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art 

Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Nerman Museum hosted by Bruce Hartman, Executive Director.  Our tour will highlight works in their collection by distinguished KCAI alumni.  The Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art (NMOCA) has one of the top internationally acclaimed collections of emerging and established artists today. Public Art Review magazine named JCCC as one of the top 10 university/college campuses for public art in America, citing the sculptures, paintings, ceramics, photography and works on paper installed throughout the campus. The museum presents many of the region's most important exhibitions of leading-edge contemporary art, as well as dynamic and diverse educational programming.
